Professor Juan Armesto

Juan Armesto is Professor of Forest Ecology at the Catholic University
of Chile, Deputy Director, Institute of Ecology and Biodiversity (IEB),
Adjunct Scientist, Institute of Ecosystem Studies, New York, USA and
President of the Fundación Senda Darwin, Chile.
Juan’s main research interests concern forest ecology and conservation
of southern forest biodiversity. Juan’s group is currently studying
how different target species, aspects of nutrient cycling, and interactions
such as pollination and seed dispersal are affected by forest fragmentation
in a managed landscape
