Stephen Hopper is the Director of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew,
United Kingdom.
Stephen is also a Visiting Professor at The University of Western
Australia, Perth, Australia, where he spent 2004-2006 as Foundation
Professor of Plant Conservation Biology.
His ties with the Kings Park and Botanic Garden, Perth, Western Australia
stem back to 1992 and include the positions of Director of Kings Park
and Botanic Garden for seven years and the Chief Executive Officer
of the Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority for five years. His ties
continue with his status of Visiting Professor.
Stephen has a vast knowledge of Mediterranean ecosystems having spent
30 years in plant science and conservation within a global biodiversity
"hot spot", the south-west of Western Australia.
